Building an audience from nothing
My first social media management role: a travel company with no social presence, a set of tour packages to sell, and me.

- 1 Stop Holidays Ltd, Dhaka
- My role
- Social Media Manager
- When
- May 2018 – Jun 2019
Context
1 Stop Holidays sells tour packages, hotel deals and ticketing. When I joined, its Facebook audience didn’t exist yet. I built the social strategy from scratch, organic and paid, and ran search and retargeting alongside it.
What I did
- Built a consistent brand voice and visual identity across social channels.
- Planned and managed Google Ads and Facebook Ads to drive website traffic and qualified enquiries for travel packages.
- Ran integrated campaigns, including one aimed at corporate travellers, across social, search and retargeting.
- Coordinated content and influencer partnerships, and tracked KPIs, engagement and competitors to refine targeting.
Results

- +9%Social engagementAcross integrated campaigns
Self-reported.
What it shows
Where I learned the full chain of performance marketing: audience, ad, landing, enquiry. It’s also where I learned that a follower count is the start of the job, not the end.
