Giving a security firm a shop window

A part-time consultancy alongside my MBA: helping a London cybersecurity and security services business open an online sales channel and plan its next twelve months of marketing.

Client

Digital Marketing Consultant (part-time)
When
Jan 2022 – Feb 2023

MBA, University of Hertfordshire

Context & challenge

Ruthless Management provides cyber and physical security services, consultation and related support. It wanted to expand into e-commerce, selling security products and services online, and needed a clear digital plan to support that growth.

My role

What was mine

Built
A WordPress e-commerce website for the company’s cybersecurity products and services.
Planned
A 12-month digital marketing strategy covering positioning, lead generation and customer acquisition, based on market research and competitor analysis.
Brokered
Hardware supplier partnerships to extend the offer beyond software.

Approach

The work started with research: understanding competitors and where the opportunities were, then turning that into a roadmap and a working sales channel. The consultancy combined strategy with hands-on build, so the plan and the shop were designed together.
